Kierunek Mechanical Engineering (in English)
A graduate of the first-cycle (Bachelor’s) studies in the field of Mechanical Engineering acquires general education appropriate for a mechanical engineer, i.e., the necessary knowledge and skills in the areas of:
general methodology of mechanical design,
design, construction, technology, and operation of machinery,
manufacturing technologies and techniques,
using professional computer aided engineering software in the field of mechanics and machine design,
integration of incomplete machines (robots) into production systems,
selected issues in computer science, economics, law, and environmental protection,
analysis of the operation of mechanical systems and the description of phenomena occurring within them,
conducting experimental research using the fundamentals of metrology,
teamwork, and awareness and tolerance of different cultures and nationalities.
A graduate who has completed first-cycle studies in Mechanical Engineering may be employed as an engineer in positions such as design engineer, process engineer, maintenance engineer, or chief mechanic in all branches of industry. The skills and competencies acquired during the studies, especially those related to effective teamwork, also enable graduates to establish their own manufacturing and/or service companies.
Such broad employment opportunities result from the highly universal nature of the education received, which, in addition to engineering knowledge, also includes computer science, organization and management, foreign languages, and humanities.
