Study programme Mechanical Engineering
Students of the second‑cycle Mechanical Engineering and Machine Design (MiBM) programme acquire advanced knowledge necessary for the design, manufacturing, and operation of mechanical structures, production techniques, machine and equipment technologies, as well as applied mechanics. The primary objective of the programme is to equip students with the ability to independently and creatively solve engineering problems across various fields of industry and science. Additional educational aims include providing knowledge on the use of the latest engineering tools and software, as well as developing social and economic competencies.
Moreover, the curriculum requires students to engage in research activities, approach problems critically, and demonstrate the ability to participate in professional discussions within the field of mechanical engineering. The broad scope of knowledge gained during second‑cycle studies enables graduates to find employment not only in industry, but also in:
- research and development institutions,
- design and engineering offices,
- consulting companies.
The skills acquired during the programme also allow graduates to establish their own manufacturing and/or service enterprises. These wide employment opportunities result from the high versatility of the education provided, which includes not only engineering knowledge but also soft skills and entrepreneurial competencies.
