Study programme Automation and Robot Control
Graduate of the Automation and Robot Control (AiSR) program acquires knowledge and skills enabling them to solve problems occurring in the control of various devices and technological processes. They are able to effectively use mathematical methods for modeling, digital simulation, and designing control systems. They are prepared to commission automatic control and supervision systems using computer systems, microprocessor controllers, programmable logic controllers, robots, and other contemporary technologies.
The graduate possesses skills in designing systems that require the use of industrial computer networks and real time operating software. They can program industrial robots as well as design and program mobile, medical, and rehabilitation robots. They have broad IT competencies, the ability to independently program in various technologies, and the capability to creatively use software in automation. The graduate can obtain professional certificates granting appropriate qualifications for engineering work.
The intended professional sectors in which the graduate may find employment include: industrial automation, robotics, energy, transport, industrial process control, and control systems, which are ubiquitous across all branches of industry. AiSR graduates can work in professions such as maintenance engineer, automation engineer, robotics engineer, automation systems designer, IT systems designer, and can also run engineering businesses of their own.
Graduates are prepared to undertake second cycle studies in automation and robotics as well as related fields. First cycle studies in Automation and Robot Control (AiSR) provide the graduate with in depth knowledge, inspiration, and familiarity with techniques that they will creatively apply in their further professional development. The program prepares graduates to solve new engineering problems in automation and robotics.
The curriculum ensures a balance between courses presenting theoretical foundations of control and those introducing contemporary technologies and advanced skills used in industrial practice. Students gain hands on experience with modern automation and robotics technologies and devices, and create their own technical solutions. Thanks to a wide range of elective courses, the program allows students to shape their educational pathway according to their own predispositions and career plans. The intended professional sectors in which the graduate may find employment include, among others: industrial automation, robotics, energy, transport, logistics, industrial process control, and control systems.
