Study programme Design
A graduate of the second-cycle (Master’s level) programme in Design with a practical profile possesses advanced, integrated design, artistic, and technological competencies corresponding to Level 7 of the Polish Qualifications Framework (PRK). They are prepared to independently and collaboratively carry out complex design processes in areas such as textile design, fashion design, and visual communication, taking into account technological, economic, and market conditions.
The graduate is able to identify and define design problems, conduct analyses and contextual research (user–market–technology), formulate design assumptions, and develop as well as verify solutions at the stages of concept, prototyping, and implementation preparation. They have advanced, application-oriented knowledge in materials science and technology, enabling informed selection of materials, technologies, and manufacturing methods in relation to product function, quality, and principles of sustainable development.
The graduate is proficient in using digital tools relevant to contemporary design practice, including CAD/3D software, DTP, and tools for visualization and project presentation. They are capable of creating clear design documentation and communicating the results of their work to various stakeholder groups, collaborating in interdisciplinary teams involving designers, engineers, and specialists in production and marketing, also in an international environment.
The practical profile of the programme ensures that the graduate is familiar with the market realities, iterative methodologies, and implementation and commercialisation processes. The graduate can organise individual and team work, manage projects, and prepare funding applications for their ideas. In addition, they possess entrepreneurial competencies enabling employment in design studios, companies, and institutions within the creative sector, as well as the ability to run their own design practice. They act in a responsible and ethical manner, taking into account user needs, the social consequences of design, and the principles of sustainable development, making them competitive participants in the contemporary design market.
