Study programme Materials and Technologies
Graduates of the master’s program in Materials and Technologies possess in-depth, interdisciplinary knowledge in the field of materials engineering, as well as the skills necessary for the design, manufacture, modification, and advanced characterization of engineering materials (including metals, ceramics, polymers, composites, biomaterials, and 2D structures), as well as the selection of methods and process parameters for specific applications. They are able to plan and conduct experiments, including measurements and computer simulations; select microscopic, spectroscopic, and diffraction techniques; and interpret results in the context of technology and product design. They are prepared for teamwork and team leadership, communication using specialized terminology (including in English), and the critical analysis of technical solutions. In addition, they possess expertise in analyzing the causes of material wear and degradation, managing technological processes, and conducting R&D work in academic and industrial settings, with a particular focus on 3D printing technology and surface engineering. They take into account the economic, legal (including intellectual property protection), and environmental aspects of engineering practice and understand the impact of materials technology on society, including in the context of the green and digital transformations.
