Study programme Biotechnology

A graduate of the Biotechnology programme is a professional prepared to operate within the domain of critical technologies essential for the advancement of the modern economy, public health security, and environmental protection. They are capable of functioning effectively at the interface of experimental biology, advanced technologies, and industry, integrating biological knowledge with engineering and analytical thinking. The graduate is equipped to apply contemporary methods of experimental biology in practice, to work with biological materials, and to operate modern research instrumentation and technological equipment. They possess a thorough understanding of biotechnological processes and are capable of participating in their design, optimization, and control, taking into account economic, legal, ethical, and environmental considerations.

Furthermore, the graduate is prepared to organize and manage production processes not only in the biotechnology industry and related sectors (including the food, pharmaceutical, feed, and environmental protection industries), but also to engage in research and development projects, implement innovative technological solutions, and undertake independent business activity. They are capable of working effectively in interdisciplinary teams, collaborating with specialists from diverse fields, and addressing challenges arising from the dynamic development of critical technologies and the bioeconomy.

Owing to their flexible educational background, capacity for continuous learning, and openness to emerging technological solutions, the graduate is well prepared both to pursue further studies at the second-cycle (Master’s) level and to enter the national and international labour markets. Such a graduate understands the significance of biotechnology as one of the key technologies of the contemporary world and is able to actively contribute to its development.
