Study programme Textronics
A graduate of the TEKSTRONICS degree programme possesses interdisciplinary knowledge in the field of materials used in textronics, their properties, manufacturing techniques, as well as computer science and electronics applied to the functionalization of these materials. This area includes, in particular, textile materials, passive and active flexible sensors, servomechanisms, programming of peripherals and microcontrollers, remote data transmission and recording, and the development of applications for the acquisition and presentation of measurement data.
The graduate has knowledge of the rational selection and material design processes, as well as production quality control. They are familiar with and capable of designing textronic systems and applying IT tools for communication with wearable electronic components in order to achieve the intended functional properties of the product. They are also able to apply modern information technology, electronics, and textile engineering methods and techniques to create intelligent systems integrated with textiles for the detection of environmental signals or for automation and control systems. Furthermore, the graduate is capable of testing and identifying the causes of degradation and wear of materials used in textronics and implementing methods to prevent such processes.
Graduates of the programme may find employment as specialists in the design and manufacturing of flexible and wearable electronic systems; in the application of IT solutions for programming detection, stimulation, and automation systems; in the development of applications for recording and presenting numerical data; and in the testing and shaping of the functional properties of materials. Employment opportunities exist in virtually every branch of industry, including large, medium-sized, and small enterprises in sectors such as medical, automotive, machinery, aerospace, military, nanotechnology, and others. Graduates may work in positions related to production management and control; the design and manufacture of IT tools, flexible electronic devices, and intelligent materials; materials trading; as well as research and development and quality control departments. Graduates may also continue their education in second-cycle (Master’s degree) programmes.
