Industrial Design Engineering - interdisciplinary studies for innovators

Industrial Design Engineering is a modern educational offer of Łódź University of Technology combining technical, artistic and managerial knowledge. The programme was developed in cooperation with the socio-economic environment and received the full support of the Business Council of the Faculty of Materials Technology and Textile Design. It responds to the current needs of the labour market and prepares students for the challenges of the future.

Students gain skills in product and system design - from research and ideation to prototyping and technological implementation. They learn to use CAD/CAE tools, study material properties and technological processes, and develop creativity and aesthetic sensitivity. The programme has a strong emphasis on practice - including a six-month work placement and teaching using methods such as design thinking, flipped classrooms and case studies.

The course allows for individualisation of the educational pathway through the choice of optional subjects, which supports the development of students' talents and interests. Graduates are prepared to work in interdisciplinary project teams, design offices, consultancies, R&D departments and to run their own businesses. They can also continue their studies at Masters level in design, graphic design, interior design and related fields.

This is a course for people who want to create innovative, functional and aesthetic solutions at the interface of technology, art and business.
