Study programme Mechanical Engineering

A graduate with a first-cycle degree in Mechanics and Machine Design obtains a general education appropriate for a mechanical engineer, i.e., relevant knowledge and skills in the areas of:

analysis,
general methodology of design and construction work,
machine design, construction, technology, and operation,
use of professional computer software supporting engineering work in the field of mechanics and machine design,
selected issues in computer science, economics, law, and environmental protection,
conducting experimental research using the fundamentals of metrology,
performing individual tasks as well as working in a team.
A graduate who completes the first-cycle studies in Mechanics and Machine Design may be employed as an engineer in positions such as designers, technologists, operators, or sales engineers across all branches of industry.
The skills and competencies acquired during the course of study, including effective teamwork, also enable the graduate to establish private manufacturing and/or service businesses.

Such broad employment opportunities stem from the high versatility of the acquired education, which, in addition to engineering knowledge, includes computer science, organization and management, foreign languages, and humanities.

The programme has been modified within the framework of the project ‘Education for the Needs of Key Sectors at Lodz University of Technology,’ co-financed by the European Union under the European Funds for Social Development Programme 2021–2027.
