Study programme Architecture

Architecture studies are for people who want to create functional and aesthetic solutions, combining engineering competence with artistic creation.

Graduates of this program are prepared to work in the architectural industry in Poland and abroad, engage in professional activity in the field of architectural and urban design, plan the development of a professional career in construction execution and supervision, as well as in industries related to interior architecture. They are also prepared to cooperate with specialists from other technical fields, run their own businesses — especially in the field of architecture — or work in government and local administration institutions. The study program also develops the architect’s sense of responsibility not only towards the investor and user, but also the immediate neighborhood and broader surroundings, as well as society and the environment as an integral whole.

Graduates are prepared for:

· professional careers and work in a design office (including running their own business), as well as in the construction industry in a broad sense

· employment in architectural and construction administration units, as well as research and development units

· coordination of large investment projects

The faculty allows for the individualisation of the educational path through the selection of elective subjects, supporting the development of students’ interests. The content of the curricula and the professional competences of the graduates are consulted with the Association of Architects of the Republic of Poland (SARP) – Branch in Łódź and the Łódź Regional Chamber of Architecture (ŁOIA), as representatives of the professional community.

Graduates of first-cycle studies may apply, after completing a professional internship, for the right to design to a limited extent and/or conduct construction works without restrictions in the architectural specialty, and to conduct construction works to a limited extent in related specialties.

On the other hand, after completing second-cycle studies, graduates will be entitled to design and/or carry out construction works without limitations in the architectural specialty, and to design and/or conduct construction works to a limited extent in related specialties.

This allows graduates of both degrees in architecture to perform independent functions in construction in accordance with the provisions of the Construction Law.
